Send in the Clowns! So today my sister and I were shopping for some suits to wear to a dinner this weekend. Anyway, as we rounded the corner near the MAC counter at Nordstrom, I caught, out of the corner of my eye, what appared to be a bettered woman. Of course I did a double take, and to my surprise I saw that not only was this an intentional make up job, but was touted proudly by every consultant at the MAC counter. See middle photo. Now seriously. My first thought, after "Whew- she's not a battered wife!", was "What!?! Is it Mardi Gras already!?!" That kind of make up is something only our beloved Mimi would enjoy. Yes, the makeup caught my attention- (Yay) but not not in a really positive way (Boo.) Why would anyone want to look like they had just gotten a right hook to the orbital bone? Now take a look at the former Miss Sweden. Pretty. And it doesn't look like she's been a samba dancer in the French Quarter.

that's pretty ugly! I would look like a clown or a 14yr old if I tried to get away with that makeup. my mom never let me wear purple or pink eyeshadow because she thought it looked like bruises - she would freak if she saw this!
Yay for your mom, Kristen! Somebody's gotta look out for the next generation! Hee hee!
I was, in fact, at the Taste of Colorado, and it was a people-watcher's paradise! I didn't bring my camera and I keep kicking myself because of it. One honorable mention: the sheer amounts of crocs. You know- those clog looking foam shoes. Total fashion cop out and worn by almost everybody. Except me. And my kids. Crocs are taking over the world- it's like the jellies revolution of 1985! Time to find a happy place.....where's my blankey!?!
ooh girl - easy on the crocs. I know they are ugly, but until you try them you will never know how fabulous they really are! I got mine for work - running around a dental office all day will wear anyone out - and they were 100x better than my best running shoes.
plus when they get dirty you just hose them off & they don't make your feet stink!
Ok- yes for work. For the same reason I wore leather keds to work at Wild Oats when Hubby was in the academy. Comfy. Easy to clean and not those ugle nurses shoes. But not to church! Rumor has it that there are some people in a particular person's ward who have been matching their Sunday "best" with crocs of every color.
ha ha! I thought about getting white ones for the temple, but I'm not brave enough until I get a longer dress!!!
Oh, I dare you to buy some white ones and wear them! Do it , do it, do it!
And let me guess who was caught with them at the temple- in your ward?
TIME FOR A NEW POST!!! 9/28/06
Allright already! :)
